About me

  • Can I live with other dogs? No - At this current time, we would prefer Roz to go to a home without other pets. Please ask a staff member for further information - Animal Welfare Team - info@allcreatureslife.org
  • Can I live with teenagers? Yes
  • Can I live with young children? Potentially - 12+
  • Do I have any medical issues? Yes - Roz has undergone BOAS Surgery: BOAS surgery aims to correct anatomical abnormalities in dogs with brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome. Roz's trachea is sadly still VERY narrow which means that her adopters must ensure that she does not get too excited, as breathing can then become difficult for her. This also applies within the hotter months, Spring - Summer as Roz can not be walked over a certain temperature - Vets have advised.
  • Can I live with cats? No
  • Am I good on the lead? Yes - Roz walks at her own pace and is happy strolling anywhere with her handler. She quite often likes to let you know where she wants to go!

Roz was an extremely shy girl when first arriving into our care. She would take 10 whole minutes to come out of her kennel on her own as she was so unsure of her surroundings and the unfamiliar faces around her.

Roz was brought in by social services accompanying her owner. We have been made aware that Roz has had at-least three homes already (that we know of) and has been recently bred from. She arrived with a deep laceration to her neck which was worrying to staff. We believe the wound was around 2 weeks old as it had started to heal. The owner could not tell us how the dog received the injury.

After plenty of cuddles and trust building in our socialisation room, she has now started to feel more comfortable around her handlers. She can still be a little wary around strangers and prefers the approach of going to them in her own time, if she is rushed she can become frightened & can back away. A slow, patient approach is best with her. She has shown nothing but kindness towards our staff & volunteers whilst they help her adjust to her new surroundings. Despite this, it is clear from her body language that she can easily feel overwhelmed & has limited experience of socialisation in the outside world.

Due to her background, we are now starting our search for a super special, understanding, patient family or individual, who are ready to show Roz the good parts of life!

While Roz is still learning to feel safe, we’ve started to see glimpses of her true personality, which we feel has been repressed for so long. Whilst spending time with her handlers in our enclosed fields, she often gets a burst of energy and will want to play. She will even engage in zoomies if her handler starts to run and will jump up at their legs in a burst of boisterous excitement! This is typical of bulldog style play, if you have owned a bulldog before, you know what we’re talking about!
